Is Homebirth Right for me?

Just because home birth is a great option for many birthing people, it is not right for everyone!

Here are some things to consider:

• Home birth is for low risk pregnancies. Certain preexisting conditions or ones that develop during pregnancy, can make your pregnancy high-risk.

• We can not offer you any medications or anesthesia for pain relief. We have LOTS of techniques for coping with labor at home, such as hydrotherapy and freedom of movement - but if you are specifically wanting a medicated birth, home birth is not for you.

• Informed consent is the cornerstone of midwifery care! This means a higher level of involvement and responsibility in informed decision making. Your midwives are always here to help, but you will need to be ready to educate yourself and be an active participant in your care!
